His Vision isn't Perfect But he's Still Seeing Pretty Damn Good: JT Review

JT needs no introduction as he's been a figure in the mainstream media since he was a teen.  However, Timberlake sure does wait long enough in between albums to make you question if he can really still be relevant.  Welp, after listening to The 20/20 Experience it's safe to say that the answer to that worry is a resounding yes.  While it might not end up being iconic like Justified, or even bring sexy back like FutureSex/LoveSounds, The 20/20 Experience stands strongly on its own as Timberlake steps into a new direction in life: marriage. Hit the jump for more.

Justin knows his bread and butter, which is Timbaland's dynamic production.  Once again letting Timbo produce the whole album, we get a slew of tunes that are head-knockers.  From "Don't Hold The Wall"(which brings with it an up-tempo barrage of bass combined with Middle-Eastern sounding chants) to Spaceship Coupe (a much slower, otherworldly love song) we get a nice balance from JT to sink our teeth into.  As Justin is now married to the lovely Jessica Biel, we get a sense that Timberlake is settling down in his songs.  They're less about one-night stands and straight up sex with a bangin' babe for the evening, and more intimate and focused on singing to one woman, especially with songs like "Pusher-Lover Girl" and "Strawberry Bubblegum".  Two songs that should not be slept on, however, are "Let The Groove Get In" (a scintillating track that blares its horns while beating congo drums) and "Tunnel Vision" (a mid-tempo head thumper, full of synths and all the typical Timbo ad-libs), which contribute even further to the journey Timberlake takes you on.  Speaking of journeys, almost every song is made up of two parts that play into each other much like "What Goes Around/Comes Around", and (while I personally like it) I have heard people complain that the songs are too long.  You'll have to get used to that or else you'll be stuck listening "Suit & Tie" on repeat, which is still an excellent single.

Final verdict: 8.5
+Timbo's production is once again on point
+Justin's definitely singing his heart out and feels at ease on every track
+/- Songs are long so get used to it
-Still don't really know how I feel about "Blue Ocean Floor"and "Dress On" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
