In the Upper Echelon: Owl Pharaoh, Track-by-Track Review

Travis $cott claims the one and only "Land of Screw" (and our obvious favorite) H-Town, so naturally we've been following his brief career with intense intrigue.  The recent G.O.O.D. Music signee is only 21, yet has showed immense promise with his clever lyrical delivery coupled with a knack for selecting impressive production that hints at his Houston origin. But with the varying career arcs of Kid CuDi, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and Pusha T, it's hard to truly know where $cott will go from here.  With all that being said, here's a track-by-track review of his debut mixtape, Owl Pharaoh, written by C. May.

1. Meadow Creek- I didn't fug with this on Cudi's CD. Not really to much on this either. I'm also not a big Intro, Interlude and Outro person. #UnlessItsYeezy
2. Bad Mood/Shit on You- First half he really spits some bars. Second half of song is obviously Cudi influence all the way down to the seemingly "F*ck it attitude". Great production as always
3. Upper Echelon (feat. T.I.)- Honestly this is the beat of the year for me. Like this bangs bro. Travis verse trails off a bit and seems to go on too long. Came on strong in the beginning doe. T.I. comes in and just goes bananas on the track. That is all. Glad 2Chainz was cut off. His verse was wildly mediocore.
Ps- TI has actually been bodying every track he has been on lately. Got me going back and jamming Paper Trail and ish.
4. Chaz Interlude- Mehh, Jared likes this doe. Probably because he's a Toro y Moi fan.
5. Uptown- Cold beat. Production is again through the roof.
6. Hell of a Night- Started off slow as hell. Picked up though. Decent track.
7 Blocka La Flame- Old track. It's nice I've just listened to it too many times.
8. Naked- Sounds a lot like James Blake in the beginning.
9. Dance on The Moon- Might be my favorite track on this mixtape. One time for Theo. In other news Paul Wall decided to come out spitting HTown bars and bodies this.
10. MIA- Both verses are from the XXL freestyle. But the added screw voice is dope.
11. Drive (feat. James Fauntleroy)- Love the homage to H-Town in the beginning. The whole track is really a shout out to the H.
12. Quintana- Heard it so many times it's just become another song. When I heard it the first time though I was pretty excited. Wale is so weak though. I think his album is going to do horrible.
12. Bandz- Expected this to bang much much harder with Meek on it. Let down by this track mane.
